Volley is a locality of the region Hole of Huesca that belongs and exercises the capital status of the municipality of The Sotonera in the Province of Huesca. Placed on a height that has slopes to north and south, his distance to Huesca is 19 km

It plays for fun, it is a place name of Iberian origin, last Moslem domain placed to the north of the city of Huesca, definitely conquered, after successive attempts, by king Peter I de Aragón in 1101. The temple was a Priory of the Real Abbey of Montearagón, privilege that it supported until 1571, date in which it happened to be part of the Diocese of Huesca, being erected in School Church in the year 1577.

The Biggest Reredos, it was realized between 1490 and 1503 and it constitutes a splendid combination of 20 temperas on table and 57 wooden sizes policrornada. The touch is Gothic, following the habitual models of the epoch. The work of masonry and size was realized by Gil de Brabante, sculptor of Flemish origin that had his workshop in Huesca. But the truly exceptional of this reredos is constituted by the wonderful paintings realized by The Teacher of Volley, anonymous painter who, in a still Gothic epoch in Spain, introduces stylistic features in which two currents join: a) The Flemish one, for the most correct resolution of the spatial concept and the appearance of feeling in the expression of the personages; and b) The Italian originated from the quattrocento, which shows us of innovative form in Spain the perfect use of the perspective, lighting and hatching.
The exceptional coloring one stands out, completely originally, emphasizing the wide scale of red and green tones

Pero Bolea is provided with many other attractions between which he emphasizes the Church of Our Lady of the Solitude or also called chapel of Santo Tomás. Baroque work of the XVIIIth century in which we can appreciate a major beautiful reredos where there appears the image of the Virgin of the Solitude. Along with her there is located a source that in formerly there were thermal baths with Roman tubular conduction.

In the surroundings many other chapels are as they are those of the Trinidad, ancient Convent of the Order of the Servitas; that of Mueras, Romanesque of the XIIth century with interesting figurative capitals of clear oriental influence; and that of the Saint Quiteria, realized in the XVIIIth century.

PHOTOGRAPHIC GALLERY ANNEXED I DESCRIPTION OF THE GOOD AND OF THE ENVIRONMENT

DESCRIPTION OF THE GOOD

It is a question of a magnificent church of plant of lounge constructed in the middle of the XVIth century in the lot of the ancient medieval fortitude of Volley, of the one that only there preserves the tower of square plant, which was later a rerise and transformed into belfry.

In the XIIth century there got up along with the tower a Romanesque church, of which only the crypt stays with two stays under the presbytery of the new Renaissance building.

The lounge plant consists of three ships of equal height separated by big props fasciculados and covered with crucería vaults covered with stars with terceletes and curved. The head office presents a presbytery lightly raised in the head and a choir to the feet with a stone parapet. The wings are provided also with chapels between the buttresses.

In origin it was presenting two accesses, the flat one to the feet of the ship of the Gospel, which today is blocked up, and other in the southern wall; this one is provided with an interesting front manierista realized between 1610 and 1611 for Juan Miguel Orliens and Juan Escorz, who turns out to be protected by a brick porch.

His conservation state is good in general.
